- Posted by Ummer
As UAE celebrates its 48th Birthday on 2nd December 2019, Al Ain Juniors School staff and students joined the nation enthusiastically with great éclat.
Rehab and Tessa of grade 12th took up the duty of gracing the day by their compering. The program began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by Abdullah of 10A followed by the school prayer and national anthem of UAE. The chief guest of the day was Mr. Arshad, Chairman of the AJ group of schools.
The students brought the stage alive with their passion and love for the UAE through their speeches. We had an Arabic speech delivered by Rinsha of 7C and an English speech by Fawaz of 10B. To create awareness about emirates and its history, the anchor girls came up with the timeline of the UAE up to 2019. Students of Grade 1-3 expressed their sincere gratitude by wishing leaders of the country and people of the land in multiple languages.
To demonstrate the Indo-UAE culture and heritage, we had a mime show, Arabic dances by the students of Grade 6th (boys and girls), senior boys and Oppana dance by Grade 8th girls. The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were spellbinding. The occasion was made melodious by the song of the girls of grade 7-9.
The day would have been deficient without the interview of the proud son of the UAE, Hazza Al Mansouri, the UAE’s first astronaut. The role was amazingly done by Ranon of 7A. We had a prize distribution ceremony for various winners of the inter-school competition.
The formal ceremony ended with the Vice principal’s message which emphasized the need for all students and staff to be respectful to UAE’s culture and heritage and to contribute to the UAE's overall growth.
Besides all these, an exhibition of the UAE artifacts, MY IDENTITY was organized and well appreciated by all students and staff. Children enjoyed the day while getting acquainted with the culture and heritage of the UAE and their hearts filled with love and respect towards the country and its leaders.
