Shark Byte Tournament 2023

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Shark Byte event! The highly anticipated Shark Byte event took place successfully, leaving participants and attendees impressed with the exceptional talent and innovative ideas displayed by the students.

The event was organized by Al Ain Juniors School and commenced with the recitation of the Quran by Mohsin Akram Khan. The national anthem followed, filling the venue with a sense of national pride. The event was graced by the presence of Vice Principal (Indian Division), Mrs. Humera Sherief, who delivered a warm welcome address to the enthusiastic participants. The competition briefings were skilfully managed by Ummer Farooq the  PDO, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event.

The competition was held across three venues, each hosting a distinct challenge. The Entrepreneurship Challenge took place at the AJS Auditorium, where young entrepreneurs showcased their innovative ideas. The Scratch Programming challenge was held in the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH), while the Python Programming challenge took place in the library. In the Scratch Programming challenge, students displayed their coding skills, and Indian School Al Ain secured the first position, followed by Delhi Private School Sharjah in second place, and Al Ain Juniors (British Division) in third. The Python Programming challenge witnessed intense competition, with Al Ain Juniors School (Indian Division) securing the first position, followed by India International School Sharjah in second place and Indian School Al Ain in third. Delhi Private School Sharjah was awarded the special Jury Award for their outstanding performance. The Entrepreneurship Challenge featured a wide range of innovative products, including a car filter made from coconut fibre, solar energy harvesting from window curtains, AI-supported waste segregator, and self-germ-detecting sanitizers, among others. The event was expertly coordinated by Ms. Shamala, the Head of the Commerce Department, and Mr. Ahammed Navas, the Head of the ICT Department. In the Entrepreneurship Challenge's Senior category, Al Ain Juniors School (Indian Division) claimed the first position, with Al Ain Juniors (British Division) securing the second position, and Indian School Al Ain achieving third place. The Super Senior category saw Indian School Al Ain emerge as winners, with Al Ain Juniors School (Indian Division) securing second place and India International School Sharjah in third.

AJ Group CEO, Mr. Zahid, commended the students for their remarkable entrepreneurial skills and praised their innovative projects. MD Tanveer Arshad congratulated the students on their achievements. Chairman Mr. Arshad Sherief and other esteemed dignitaries also attended the event, lending their support and encouragement to the participants. Principal Mohammed Gaffar, a guiding figure in the school, was present throughout the program, providing valuable support to the event. His presence added to the encouragement and motivation felt by the participants. He also expressed sincere gratitude to all heads of the department, the art teacher Mr. Murukanandam , and all the teachers for their support. The event featured a panel of esteemed judges who evaluated the participants' projects. Mr. Omer Badran, Senior Faculty at HCT and Team Leader for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship program, along with Dr. Mansoor Khan, Academic Program Chair in the Faculty of Business at HCT, brought their expertise to the judging process. They were joined by Mr. Suhail Sajid, MD of Edu Fun Nursery, Mr. Noufal, an ICT and Robotics Teacher from MOE School, and Mr. Mohamed Anas, an ICT and Robotics Teacher from OIS.

The event's compering duties were flawlessly handled by Srenidhi and Niveditha Nisha, who added their charm and enthusiasm to the proceedings. The closing ceremony was a delightful event, with students entertaining spectators through dance performances and talent showcases, adding a touch of entertainment to the ceremony.
